SFI – Swedish for Immigrants

Learning Swedish is the first step toward getting a job. At Astar, you can learn Swedish quickly and effectively. We offer workshops designed to help you enter the job market faster.

Study flexibly – On your schedule, at your own pace

Your educational background and the results of your SFI assessment will determine how your studies are structured. You can choose to study during the day, in the evenings, through flexible learning options, or in an intensive format.
Together with your introductory teacher, you'll create a personalized study plan that matches your preferred pace.

Vocational SFI

We offer workshops that include:

  • Career guidance
  • Lectures on working life in Sweden
  • Writing CVs
  • Job search strategies
  • Creating a job plan
  • Connections with industry sponsors and internship opportunities

Who can study SFI?

  • You must have a residence permit and you must be at least 16 years old.
  • You should have received your full national registration number.

 

EU/EEA Citizens or citizens of Switzerland

If you are an EU / EEA citizen or citizen of Switzerland you should have a right of residence (for work, studies) and be a resident in Stockholm. Bring your passport (to show citizenship).

How to apply

All courses are free and you register at the Adult Education Center in your city.
